Our phlebotomists do blood transfusion sampling. We find the error rate is far lower than it was when junior doctors did it.

Subject: PHLEBOTOMISTS AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION
For our sins our department runs the phlebotomy service.Recently the Haematologists have asked us to include specimen requests for Blood Transfusion.Presumably this is all about junior doctors hours.I can imagine that this is going to be very problematical.Would anyone who has done this before like to share their experiences. All comments will be appreciated.
