We used to use the smaller glass BDT tubes and experienced breakages
periodically; on one occasion resulting in a badly cut finger. We have now
changed to plastic ones.

Can I piggy-back a further question on to this - we have just
changed
from the Becton-Dickinson 10 ml vacutainers (serum-separator) (16mm)
to
the 7ml (13mm). We have noted a lot more breakages occurring as the
tops are removed. Has anyone else found these 13 mm tubes to be
more
fragile than the 16mm ?
