Dear Members
Maybe You can help me....
We have a patient woman, 52 yo, veterinary, with no medication, with
pain in fingers, knees, elbows and back.
The GP requisite a ANA. We perform the ANA with a BION kit (Hep-2) and
the results was a small fluorescence only in a 1:40 dilution, 1:160, 1:640
show a negative results. We repeated this test 2 days after and have same
results.
The patient still feel pain and we send the sample to a reference lab
and the result was : reagent until 1:160 dilution, fine punctate pattern in
Hep-2 cels.
My questions are:
1) Why so much difference between the kits?
2) What is the correct conduct to take in this case?(repeat test,
indicate new antigen like SSa and SSb or Scl-70)
3) Where can I get a guideline to ANA test?
Thanks in advance
