Hello listmembers
The following set of results was given to participants for Case 106
of the UK NEQAS for Interpretative Comments recently, with the
clinical details:
female 46 years old presented to GP compaining of being
'tired all the time, mood swings'
FSH 18.5 U/L (Follicular: 2.5 - 10.2; Mid-cycle: 3.4 - 33.4; Luteal:
1.5 - 9.1; Menopausal: 23 -116)
LH 12.2 U/L (Follicular: 1.9 - 12.5; Mid-cycle: 8.7 - 76.3; Luteal: 0.5
- 16.9; Menopausal: 15.9 - 54.0)
Oestradiol 152 pmol/L (Follicular: 40 - 253; Mid-cycle: 536 - 1930;
Luteal: 121 - 551; Menopausal: < 136)
I understand Gordon Challand will be posting a summary of the first
10 cases in due course so I won't reveal what the comments were
and the Assessors' view of them. Many list members are Scheme
participants anyway, but those that are not might like to hazard an
interpretation, assuming the implict question on the GP's request
card was
"? (peri)menopausal".
