The correlations were r=0.62 (pre-breakfast), r=0.65 (pre-lunch), r=0.81 (post-lunch) and r=0.78 (extended post-lunch). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that post-prandial glucose correlated significantly and independently with HbA1c and that pre-prandial glucose did not. Postprandial glucose also showed better sensitivity, specificity and +ve predictive value in predicting poor glycaemic control than did pre-prandial glucose.
