might i ask a barely related question while i have you on the line?
it's been a number of years since i looked at Rolf Sprandel's book on
Ivo, but as i recall he suggested that Ivo might not have been from the
Beauvasis has been traditionally thought, but rather from the Chartraine.
the basis for this interesting hypothesis was, if i remember rightly,
that some of Ivo's kinsmen --especially two(?) nephews(?)-- are mentioned in
one or more of the chartraine necrologies.
do you happen to know whether anyone else has dealt with this question, pro or
con?
is Sprandel's idea (assuming i have it right) generally accepted these days?
