As a footnote to Kate's comments, it may be worth noticing, Fabrizio, that
Gregory chose Andrew as the patron of the monastery he founded on his
family's estate at Rome. (And in the Anglo-Saxon context, that Wilfrid was
remembered as the builder of churches in that Apostle's honour. Was this in
imitation or commemoration of Gregory?)
