I'm still here!, and still working on technical issues relating to privacy
in computer networks. Part of the problem with user privacy in any computing
system is that the security model is most often directed at protecting
system resources against attacks from users (authorized or otherwise),
rather than protecting the user (or rather their data) from the system. So
enabling privacy is at often odds with the underlying system design. Even if
the technical issues were all solved the political ones are far too daunting
to consider on a Friday afternoon ;)
