"Physics is a form of insight and as such it's a form of art." David Bohm
"Art is the Queen of all sciences communicating knowledge to all
generations of the world," Leonardo da Vinci
"Each thing we see hides something else we want to see" Rene Margritte
This thread reminded me of a book I read a few years ago: "Art and Physics:
Parallel Visions in Space, Time and Light" by Leonard Shlain (William
Morrow 1991). A surgeon by profession, Shlain writes in great detail about
what he sees as an explanation of modern physical concepts depicted in
modern art. Using a remarkable if amateur knowledge of both, he convinced
me that these things were connected. It only took a little over 400 pages.
Maybe art and science are pretty much the same thing on a certain level.
