Subject: English translations of Latin Hymns
Message-ID: <[log in to unmask]>
Learned scholars (of which I regrettably am not one):
For a forthcoming collection of Christmas music for voice with piano I am
lacking English translations to the following:
Resonet in Laudibus
Ecce Nomen Domini Emmanuel
Jesu Redemptor Omnium
A Solis Ortus Cardine
If need be I can supply full Latin texts to all of these. From the
translator I only need the most precise literal renderings. Matters of
rhythm, rhyme and marriage to the Gregorian Chant originals will be
handle by me as best I can. Samples of my mode of working are attached.
(Hope you can open "xif" files generated on my Xerox scanner.)
I struggle on a low budget to produce traditional Roman Catholic works in
an effort to enlighten the Church and to effect some healing within
modern times. I also produce a piano instruction program aimed at
homeschool children in an effort to additionally effect a healing in
today's ultra-perverse world of the "arts." Most of my works can be
viewed at

I can only offer respondents my gratitude, my good will, my prayers, and
my willingness to be of return service by offering fruits of my musical
expertise. What I lack in scholarship I make up for in "nuts and bolts"
musical skills.
In Christ's service,
Alan Jemison
