Hi Everyone,
I am conducting some research into best practices for addressing the problem
of literacy and people with disabilities as it relates to employment.
The committee I am doing the research for is made up of representatives from
government and the community. This committee has determined that literacy is
the main barrier to people with diasabilities in finding employment. The
focus here is across all disabilities (including, but not limited to
developmental, physical, mental health, people who are blind, people who are
deaf etc;) , but it would seem that most of the research and/or best
practices I have found thus far, focus on learning disabilities.
I would be greatful if anyone has any information on this subject, if they
could pass it along, or simply pass along the name, website or publication or
whatever resource is applicable. We are especially interested in models that
work, either in a broad policy sense or on a more specific program level.
Appreciate your time.
Sincerely,
Joel Macht
