Dear List Members,
I am currently putting together a book chapter on ‘finding
the evidence in health promotion' and I am trying to
compile some information on possible situations/scenarios
in which practitioners/policy-makers/ commissioners /
researchers need to find evidence about the effectiveness
of health promotion initiatives. More specifically I am
interested in finding out:
(i) Under what circumstances do you find yourself having to
search for evidence (e.g. for a specific task such as
developing guidelines ?)
(ii) What kind of constraints are placed upon your
searching? (e.g. time, limited access to databases)
(iii) Do you have any ‘short-cuts' to get access to
evidence quickly ?
(iii) What would make your searching task easier ?
Any information and/or reflections on (including
frustrations with ! ) searching for evidence in health
promotion will be gratefully received.
Best wishes
Angela
