Dear Colleagues,
I have just received two books for review in the next issue of 'European
Information'. They are:
Contemporary Europe, by Richard Sakwa and Anne Stevens, Macmillan Press,
c300 pp, UK £15.99. Intended primarily for students, this volume is
described as 'A treasure chest of information. Provides informed,
accessible material on a wide range of social, political and cultural
aspects of the Europe of today, but also gives a sound historical background
and an analytical framework for understanding developments in the
continent.'
Britain and European Unity 1945-1999, John W Young, Macmillan Press, c250
pp, UK £13.50. One reviewer said it is 'The best summary I have read of the
post-war history of the European question'.
Anyone interested in reviewing either book should contact me as soon as
possible. Reviews (approx. 500 words) should be sent to me by 22 September.
Regards,
Eric
