I do recall seeing somewhere a wonderful image of the dead rising out of
their graves as a sort of reverse process of cadaverisation - skeletons at
the bottom of the picture, gradually being refleshed, and rising out of
their graves as full bodies. I think it was in
Lewis, Suzanne, 1991. 'The English Gothic Illuminated Apocalypse, lectio
divina and the art of memory'. Word and Image 7(1), 1-32.
but of course as it wasn't Welsh I didn't make a proper note of it!
I can have another go at locating it if anyone wants to know.
