Dear JMichael,
In fact one our list members, Miriam Gill, who is presently away has
begun to write on this topic. She has written an article which analyzes
English wall paintings from the fourteenth century and their relation to
sermon texts. The title of the article is 'Preaching and Image: Sermons
and Wall Paintings in Later Medieval England'. It will appear in 2001 in
a book of collected essays entitled *Sermon in the Middle Ages*, Brill.
It is a fascinating topic. But one which is difficult to trace.
Nevertheless, a lot more work needs to be done in the field.
Yours ever,
Carolyn
