My apologies for confusing the Proto-evangelium of James and the Infancy
Gospel of Thomas, and thanks to Bob Kraft for correcting my error. The
James text is occupied largely with stories of the conception, birth, and
childhood of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and then with her own maternity.
The stories in the Thomas text -- I'll let someone else who has the text in
front of them tell a few, rather than relying on my own memory, which is
obviously a little faulty!
Patrick.
