This brings up a point that has bothered me for years---by what system of
counting was Jesus in the tomb for three days? Friday around sunset until
Sunday dawn just doesn't add up to three days to me. And by Jewish
accounting, doesn't the day begin at sunset, so Jesus would have been
buried all day on the sabbath, and a bit of the next day? Can anyone tell
me how the tradition (hymns, etc.) fixed so firmly on "three days in the
tomb"?

>(3, the number of the Trinity - death has no power over God). Lazarus is
>buried 4 days (4, the number for man) death no longer has power over man.
