The Cornish actually marched to Blackheath in 1997 to both commemorate the
An Gof uprising of 500 years earlier, and highlight the marginal nature of
Kernow's economy and political powers today.
The Vikings are not really to blame and were seen as allies by the Celts
against the hordes of Anglo-Saxon barbarians that invaded Britain over a
thousand years ago.
Cornwall also has two nationalist parties so there is more to the Duchy
than beaches, seafood restaurants and failed eclipse events (most of which
were organised by outsiders).
High seasonal unemployment, a elitist class of English settlers pricing the
indigenous population out of the housing market and a total lack of higher
education establishments leading to a brain drain of Cornwall's youth for
starters.
Cheers, Paul.
