Applications are invited for full-time study co-ordinators for two
randomised controlled trials: CAESAR and PROGRAMS. The CAESAR study will
evaluate different surgical techniques used during caesarean section
operations and PROGRAMS will evaluate the effects of prophylactic GM-CSF
given to preterm babies who are at high risk of developing infection.
The postholders will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
running of the studies, liaising with participating hospitals throughout
the UK, and for planning, maintaining and implementing administrative
services for this project.
The successful candidates should have well-developed organisational
skills and be able to take responsibility, prioritise workload, plan
ahead and work well both independently and as part of a team.
Experience of word processing, preferably using Microsoft Word, and data
management are essential. Excellent communication skills, time
management skills and attention to detail are necessary requirements for
these posts. Prior experience of working on a randomised trial or in
medical research is desirable. The CAESAR position is full-time for 28
months, and PROGRAMS is full-time for 36 months, with the possibility of
extension.
