Dear Beff,
I'd like to think it fitting that Stefaneschi would have been buried
according to what he recorded in his ceremonial. So, if the Avignonese
thought as I do (or even if they didn't!), it may be worthwhile to consult:
Marc DYKMANS, *Le ceremonial papal de la fin du moyen age a la Renaissance*,
Tome II: *De Rome en Avignon; ou, le Ceremonial de Jacques Stefaneschi*.
Bibliotheque de l'Institut historique belge de Rome, 25. Brussels and Rome:
Institut historique belge de Rome, 1981. See pages 248-249 for Dykmans's
commentary, and pages 503-507 for the edition of the text.
Best wishes,
George
