Senior Research Associate
A Senior Research Associate is required to work on two studies looking into the
management of dementia in the community. The first study will explore factors
that determine patterns of contact with primary care by patients with dementia
using a case control study and the second will be a qualitative study of factors
that influence the giving and receiving of a diagnosis of dementia.
The post will be based in the Centre for Health Services Research at the
University of Newcastle. The postholder will be expected to work on the two
studies and carry out other duties commensurate with the seniority of the post
including managing the other staff on the project, establishing collaborative
links with relevant bodies as well as pursuing a personal interest in older age
or dementia with the medium term objective of developing a research programme
and generating research income.
The person appointed will be expected to have a post graduate degree and
post-doctoral experience in health service research. They should be able to
demonstrate an ability to produce high quality research products, have the
skills to be able to manage people effectively, and be able to work as a member
of a team.
