Hi: I have completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology at McMaster University and I
am currently looking into continuing my education. After some research, my
main interest is in physiotherapy. I have been reading the physio mailbase
for quite awhile, and I have found interest in many of the
topics/discussions; as well as the various approaches used to try to find
solutions to proposed questions. I would like to address a few questions of
my own to the mailbase in order to broaden my own ideas and to receive a
global perspective from those already involved in the profession. I would
appreciate any feedback/insight/direction to some or all of the following
questions:
1) What do you believe are important personal strengths/ characteristics a
physiotherapist should have?
2) Describe what you believe are the challenges faced in the profession.
3) What do you believe are the trends of why people seek the services of a
physiotherapist?
4) What are the benefits of a master's level entry vs. a bachelor's entry
level program?
5) What experiences sparked your interest in the profession?
6) What did you do to learn more about the profession?
7) What do you believe are the strengths/weaknesses of an evidence-based
approach to clinical care?
8) Why did you choose physiotherapy vs. occupational therapy?
Thanking you in advance,
Assunta
