dear group,
some of my teenage patients ask my opinion on how to increase the bulk of
their muscles. the most disturbing thing for them is the asymmetry of the
calf bulk as in hemiplegia and also, but less often, the bulk of the thigh,
as the quad. most of them have had in their past some sort of muscle
lengthening, at least the teno-muscular-release of the triceps surae. this
aesthetic aspect seems to be much more important for them than the
"function".("function" is the key word and goal for my rehabilitation
efforts all these years, but now it is not enough!)
can any of you, the muscle experts, can give me and them advice how to do
it, or at least why it can't be done?
thanx,
Netta Harries
