Dear Colleagues:
Our monastery, Conception Abbey, is in the midst of the revision of its
Liturgy of the Hours as mandated by the Thesaurus liturgiae horarum
monasticae. Part of the revision entails the compilation of lectionary of
non-scriptural readings (arranged for a three-year cycle). We're now looking
for readings in English translated from the writings (letters, homilies,
sermons, etc) of the abbots of Cluny: Odo, Mayeul, Odilo, Hugh, and Peter
the Venerable, celebrated as a memorial in the liturgical calendar of the
Swiss-American congregation. Any leads to material that could serve as
appropriate liturgical readings for the second nocturn at vigils would be
appreciated. We're looking for at least three selections and would
appreciate as many leads as possible in order to make suitable selections.
Bro Frowin and Fr Hugh would be most grateful for any leads you may give, as
will I. And you'll earn the reward of a special remembrance in our prayers
on that great memorial.
Thomas Sullivan, OSB
