A one-day conference on Cassiodorus, sponsored by the Institute for the
Study of Cassiodorus and the High Middle Ages (Squillace, Calabria,
Italy) will take place on the 16th of May 2000 at the Istututo
Cassiodoro, Via Ss. Apostoli 4, Squillace, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
It will feature the following speakers:
Cracco Ruggini, Lelia: Graduatorie fra utillimae artes e saperi
scientifici aristocratici nell'Italia di Cassiodoro.
Gasti, Fabio: Lo studio delle scienze naturali in Cassiodoro.
Mazzini, Innocenzo: Cassiodoro testimone del passaggio dalla medicina
tardioantica alla medicina monastica.
Pizzani, Ubaldo: Retorica e dialettica nelle Institutiones di
Cassiodoro.
Troncarelli, Fabio: Il codice monacense 337 testimone indiretto del
sapere medico vivariense.
