I've been looking at a 12th-century Herod play from
Bilsen which includes the hymn, "Hostis Herodes."
Karl Young's note is that it is by Sedulius.
Can any of you direct me to more information about
this hymn, its occasion, or its composer? Having read
the hymn, I'm beginning to wonder about its
relationship with the Herod-play genre in general.
Many thanks,
