Apropos the query about the longer and shorter versions of Esther:
For a chart of the contents of various "bibles" (traditional Jewish,
traditional Christian, protestant Christian, etc.), go to my web page
(URL below) and to Course RelSt 002, then to "Canonical Scriptures." The
main difference between the classical Christian scriptures (whether Roman
Catholic or Eastern Orthodox) and the bible of the protestant traditions
is that the protestant bible does not include the deutero-canoncial
materials such as the portions of Esther (and Daniel) not found in the
Jewish scriptures and various other books preserved mainly in Greek.
There is no single "Christian Bible."
