In honor and recognition of all our bi-, tri- and multi-lingual Listmembers,
today we remark:
March 31 – Venerable Translator
The Venerable Franciscan Priest Alonso de Molina, who came as a child from
Spain with his Parents; and with brevity and great elegance learned the
Mexican language, which he attributed more to the science of infusion than
the art of learning…
His life ended with a lengthy illness, in which he died so willingly that
one inclines to believe he left to receive the prize he earned through his
many works; on March 31, the year 1558.
