There are still some places left on the seminar - "Public Library Policy and Social Exclusion - a progress report on the LIC-funded research project."
The seminar is being held on Friday 24 March 2000 at the Library Association.
The research project, Public Library Policy and Social Exclusion, is due to report in June 2000. This seminar is an early opportunity to discover some of the project's findings, particularly the results of the national survey. In addition, members of the research team will be speaking on three of the project's working papers (as described in the seminar programme).
The aims of the day are to:-
1. bring participants up-to-date with progress on the research and for them to explore the impact of social exclusion on library services;
2. report the preliminary findings of the UK-wide survey;
3. encourage feedback on the project to date;
4. encourage participants to take away ideas which they can implement in their own services.
The Social Exclusion Action Planning Network is running the seminar. The Network, which is part-funded by the LIC, is being co-ordinated by John Vincent (who is also the independent consultant on the project). If you would like to attend the seminar, please send the form, at the end of this message, to John.
