Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
Following the successful launch last year of the Physiotherapy Effectiveness
Bulletin, four further issues will be available during 2000.
Musculoskeletal disorders: peripheral (available April)
Cardiac Rehabilitation (June)
Neurology (to include stroke, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis)
(October)
Rheumatology (December)
The Bulletin summarises the evidence from systematic reviews in a succinct
bullet point format. It highlights implications for physiotherapy practice
and further research.
During 1999 the following topics were covered (copies still available):
Health Promotion: Physical Activity and Exercise
Services for Older People
Mental Health
Musculoskeletal Disorders: Spinal
Copies are available free to members of the CSP and for £2.50 each to
non-members (incl P&P).
The CSP has also commissioned evidence-based briefing reports to support the
implementation of the National Service Frameworks.
A report on the clinical and cost effectiveness of physiotherapy in cardiac

by Judy Jolliffe, Rod Taylor and Shah Ebrahim is available free to members
of the CSP and £5.00 to non-members. (25 pages)
A report on the clinical effectiveness of physiotherapy in mental health by
Marie Donaghy and Brian Durward will be available in April. It will be free
to members of the CSP and £5.00 to non-members (32 pages)
