If you said "token" to me in the right context I'd tend to hear it
(without inhaling of course ;-) as a synonym for "label". I'd prefer
not to use (or hear) "token" if we have a good equivalent. Having
two terms for the same thing is an invitation for confusion in any
application that requires precise language (such as technical writing
and discussing standards).
