I agree with Renato.
In Tuesday's conference call I agreed to the concept of an Agent Core --
constructing a more elaborate set of elements descriptive of agents. I
agree that transient information such as agent's phone numbers and email
addresses won't successfully work in records describing the types of
resources I wish to discover over the internet. I agree that some of this
data does not fit within DCMES given the principles for valid qualifiers
we've articulated.
HOWEVER, I agreed to Agent Core, and tried to say this over and over again,
ONLY on the condition that basic pieces of information needed by most
projects to describe CCP-type agents be included as qualifiers in DCMES, or
at least be considered for inclusion on the ballot.
To me, these include Role (and not the way it ended up on the ballot, I
will send a separate note on that), Affiliation (I agree arguments can be
made either way here, but it is not right to pre-emptorily reject this),
name, and agent type (which I would recast as type of name).
As Renato says, let's just vote on these as qualifiers and THEN move on to
building a *better* element set.
