Since Abelard's been mentioned, I'd like to digress to ask
listmembers their opinion of the arguments of the recent
book by Constant Mews, *Lost Love Letters of Abelard and
Heloise*. I thought it persuasive, but I'm not an expert in
this area, and I'd like to be able to tell my students
whether scholarly opinion accepts these letters as genuine.
This list as ever is a good place to locate such scholarly
opinion.
