Have you got SMART?
SMART (Sports Medicine And Related Topics) is the National Sports Medicine
Institute's database containing bibliographic details of journal articles.
The database currently contains over 33,000 records and covers the topics
sports injuries, exercise physiology, fitness testing, exercise therapy,
drugs in sport, sport psychology, sport biomechanics, sports nutrition and
the special categories children, women and the disabled. SMART is an
invaluable research tool for all those working in or studying sports care,
including orthopaedic surgeons, sports scientists, health and fitness
professionals, general practitioners, dietitians, osteopaths,
physiotherapists and students. The database has a user friendly interface
to allow location of relevant articles by subject, author, journal and/or
publication date.
The database is now complemented by a range of new features which
i) help the user to focus on those aspects of sports care of particular
interest to them
ii) allow the user to promote their own areas of research by
contributing any of their own sports care publications not currently listed
in SMART
