At Stonehenge, the sun rises over the heel stone on Midsummer's Day. It may
have been the same in the Egyptian temples, too. I see nothing in my notes
that actually identifies the actual day, but, ancient sacred structures were
frequently used for astronomical structures, particularly in places like Egypt
where the temple priests had to predict the seasons acurately, in Egypt's case,
the floods, to establish the right time for planting and other activities which
relied upon the seasons. I hope this adds something to the discussion. yrs,
