Dear Umberto!
Provisional dating of antique materials about which I wrote to you is
I - IV centuries of common era. It were published in russian really. And
besides, speaking about the faunal rests in this papers, I did not
described specially which of them are burnt. It is quite usual procedure
to burn a leavings after meals on antique necropolises and it haven't
some connection with those animals, which was burn. The description of
faunal materials in general from necropolises of Ilurat and Kitey is
made in works:
Kasparov A.K. New data on faunal remains from Nymphaion and
neighbouring settlements//Archeologia, 1995. Vol. 46. P.77 - 80. (in
english!)
Kasparov A.K. The bone rests of animals from necropolis of Bospor city
Ilurat // The theses of Docl. of Conf. "Problems of an archaeology of
Northern Black Sea." 1990. - Herson. pp. 70 - 72. (in russian).
Kasparov A.K. The faunal rests from necropolises of Bospor cities Ilurat
and Kitey. // Works of the Conf. "Animals and plants in Mythology-Ritual
systems." Dmitrieva T.N., Khrshanovsky V.A. (Ed.) 1996. State Museum of
Hist. of Religions. St-Pitersburg, pp.38 - 40.(in russian).
This work is small and I would be able to translate it to English
specially for you if it is interests you very much.
I always note traces of faire on bones, which I research certainly. And
it is possible, basically, to check up my documentation and to establish
particularly - the remains of which animals were burnt on these
monuments. However it is rather long business!
Give me to know if it really important for you. I shall take my efforts
to help you.
Best wishes, Alexey Kasparov, st.-Peterburg
