A great on-line source for tracking down genetic literature is the PubMed
web site (National Library of Medicine). Simply click the link below and
enter "elephant DNA" in the search field. I found at least 20 relevant
articles using these key words, as well as articles on DNA extraction from
extinct proboscidians and museum specimens.
