A date for your diaries.
I am pleased to announce that the fourth annual institutional web
management
workshop will be held at the University of Bath on 6-8 September.
Previous workshops have focussed on the institutional Web service from
the perspective of provision of corporate information. However the
institutional Web is more than a well-designed brochure. Demand is
increasing for new solutions for delivery of information, for e-business
and e-commerce facilities, etc. The learning and teaching communities
within institutions are increasing making use of the Web. Web services
need to connect to back-end personnel, student record, finance and other
corporate systems if information is to be managed in cost- and
time-effective ways. Museums and libraries can provide access to
resources which will benefit the HE community. At a national level we
are seeing HE initiatives such as e-university and government-funded
developments such as LearningDirect.
The "Institutional Web Management: The Joined-Up Web" workshop will aim
to address many of these issues.
Further details about the workshop will be announced shortly.
The Programme Committee consists of:

See you in September.
