IMPERIAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY AND MEDICINE
Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering
5 Academic Staff Appointments
The Department wishes to make up to 5 academic appointments, mostly at
Lecturer level, but possibly higher, in preparation for the impending
retirement of a number of senior staff. Well qualified and highly motivated
candidates from any sub discipline of civil/environmental engineering may
apply, but those from geotechnics, concrete, steel structures, fluid
mechanics and highways/traffic are particularly welcomed. Candidates will
be expected to make a strong contribution to teaching at undergraduate
and postgraduate level and to develop independent research.
The Department is widely recognised as one of Europe's leading centres of
excellence in civil/environmental engineering. It has received top grading in
every Research Assessment Exercise and has performed well in recent
teaching quality assessments.
Appointment will be at Lecturer level (£17,238 - £30,065 + £2,134 London
Weighting), but if suitable candidates come forward, more senior
appointments are possible. Further particulars are available from Colin J
Kerr (+44 (0) 171 594 6044, [log in to unmask]) or from our website
http://www.cv.ic.ac.uk/vacancyhome.html
Closing date for applications: Friday 24 March 2000
