(with apologies for cross-posting) IMPERIAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY AND MEDICINE Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering 5 Academic Staff Appointments The Department wishes to make up to 5 academic appointments, mostly at Lecturer level, but possibly higher, in preparation for the impending retirement of a number of senior staff. Well qualified and highly motivated candidates from any sub discipline of civil/environmental engineering may apply, but those from geotechnics, concrete, steel structures, fluid mechanics and highways/traffic are particularly welcomed. Candidates will be expected to make a strong contribution to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to develop independent research. The Department is widely recognised as one of Europe's leading centres of excellence in civil/environmental engineering. It has received top grading in every Research Assessment Exercise and has performed well in recent teaching quality assessments. Appointment will be at Lecturer level (£17,238 - £30,065 + £2,134 London Weighting), but if suitable candidates come forward, more senior appointments are possible.
