Dear All,
We have recently started a research project for the Quuensland
Department of transport aimed at producing a guidelines for the
evaluation of public transport projects. The scope of the project is set out
below. If you are interested in the outcomes and/or have some
information on potentially useful references and other material, please let
us know.
We are keen to find out if there have been other similar projects elsewhere
in the recent past.
Cheers
Luis
SUMMARY OF SCOPE
Focus on producing a set of practical technical guidelines to be
followed when evaluating projects or strategies. These guidelines might
rely on worked examples for a range of projects, in order to have practical
relevance. They might include ‘default’ values for the main evaluation
parameters and assumptions, as is the case with well established road
project evaluation procedures.
The aim is to produce guidelines which:
showthe evaluation framework required to capture the main impacts
of specific types of PT projects;
providesome guidance on what actual values to use to quantify
some of the impacts; and
provideworked examples for some of the more important project
types.
These guidelines could help proponents:
Identifythe impacts and affected groups;
Predictthe extent of impacts; and
Assignmonetary values to impacts when appropriate.
