EXTERNAL EVALAUTOR for EFFECTS Project
0.2 Secondment for one year
The TLTP Phase 3 EFFECTS Project is looking for an external evaluator
to join the project on a 0.2 secondment for one year starting in
September 2000 on the Senior Lecturer scale (£23,184 - £30,636) pro
rata.
The post would suit either an experienced researcher/evaluator in the
field of learning technologies for higher education or someone with
experience of research and extensive experience of using learning
technologies looking for an opportunity to extend their awareness and
contribute to this national project. The individual appointed will
have a sound understanding of the issues which impact on the effective
embedding of learning technologies at the individual and institutional
levels. In line with the project's aim to provide a nationally
recognised framework and accreditation scheme, s/he will ideally have
experience of working in the field of staff and educational
development.
The individual appointed will have skills in data collection and
analysis and will be able to communicate findings clearly both
verbally and through a substantial written report. The formative phase
of evaluation is particularly important to the team and we are
therefore looking for a team player who can support, advise, challenge
and facilitate our thinking in this crucial final year. The appointee
will work within an already well-established evaluation strategy and
the post is advertised at an early stage to ensure that s/he has
maximum input to the development of this strategy and to the ongoing
work of the project.
The post will involve travelling around the five project consortium
members and working closely with the project team.
To ensure objectivity in the evaluation applicants cannot be closely
connected to the project or employed at any of the five main
consortium institutions
Applications should be sent to Paul Bailey, EFFECTS Project Manager at
the address below and should be a maximum of 4 sides of A4 including:
- a CV with your previous relevant experience - evidence of your
understanding of the issues around embedding C&IT into learning and
teaching; - your reasons for wanting to take up this opportunity; -
costings for a 0.2 secondment for 1 year.
Closing date for applications will be Friday 31 March 2000.
