Dear Randy,
I think that if you go to the SPM help and look for SPM_templates.man you will
find a fairly decent amount of information about the different types of templates
that are available with the SPM99.
Likewise, spm-sn3d should give you a lot of info about the spatial normalization
routines in SPM.
There is a web page maintained by Matthew Brett at Cambridge which has a huge
amount of useful info. http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/Imaging/spm.html
I have found it to be extremely useful . In there somewhere he mentions about the
MNI template and the Talairach templates and he has even provided a small matlab
script that converts the MNI coordinates to Talairach coordinates...
