Dear psci-com subscribers...
One of the sessions in this years BIG (British Interactive Group) Event is
focussing on how scientists or science communicators work successfully or
perhaps not so successfully on radio and TV programmes.
A number of people in interactive centres get approached by researchers
looking for demo ideas and help with communication. We are looking for any
speakers who may be interested in contributing to this session.
Currently confirmed are Alex Barnett (National Space Science Centre,
Leicester) who recently completed an OU TV series on Astronomy and Marty
Jopson, Producer/Director of the BBC Local Heroes series. We are hoping also
to have Tom Pringle (alias Dr. Bunhead) to talk about how he adapts his very
distinct style of presenting to Childrens TV.
If you think you have something to offer to this session, please contact me

BIG unfortunately cannot pay speakers fees but we can contribute to travel
expenses. The event is 19-22 July in the (highly recommended) beautiful
setting of Herstmonceux Castle and Science Centre in Sussex. If you want
more details go to www.big.uk.com and click the icon for the BIG Event 2000.
Thanks
