One point about Jacob Epstein's NYRB article. The key new fact for
him is hand-held electronic text viewers which to his mind will
replace the book. He says that currently there are only 10,000
of these available, which presumably means that currently they
are expensive. Certainly a book is much more convenient than
a PC screen but he thinks things are changing.
Which has made me think for some time that poetry and art will
be tailored for the screen in the future. Which means poems
under 20 lines, I suppose.
Anyone know anything about this new technology?
