If we talked in terms of safety is it possible that the individualistic
language-game of OAE might be moved a little?
If we talked in terms of safety is it possible that a collective
awareness might be forged?
If we talked in terms of safety would the "adventure" change a little ?
Perhaps safety has little or nothing to do with "risk" ( for example) -
maybe maybe not !
Can the "adventure" be a path to safety and is "adventure" necessary for
real safety?
Perhaps one key issue is that safety is no longer discussed as much as
it uswed to be in OAE generally. This is true if we look at "adventure
programming". But, it must be said that this is not true in terms of
much mountaineering work today which is not connected to business in any
big way. Safety has, for many, become a non-issue. Why?
Why was "risk" used especially in the 1980s + in the published works of
OAE? Why? Was it the oil crisis? Or....?
Where has safety gone?
WHAT IS THE LINK BETWEEN MANAGEMENT "TRAINING" AND ADVENTURE "THERAPY" ?
Why do they so often use the same language and the same paradigms ? Is
there something here to openly discuss? Are these two "operations"
involved in the same CONTRACT ?
Just a thought
