Hello Pete and all - From afar I enjoy the way that you are moving - it all
needed so many folk and so many years of work to get to the stage that you are
at.
I wonder if some of the "old-workers" from the UK might still have a few things
to say? I suspect they do.
This is just a friendly comment with the intention of asking the new voices to
communicate with the "old".
I have found the work of Robin Hodgkin ( from Oxford) to be so endearing towards
OAE in general that I wonder if you might not invite him to speak sometime there
in the UK.
The last time I spoke to him ( concerning a conference that will now be held in
the year 2003) he said that his ability was less than it was some years ago. He
is about 80 years old(young).
But at the same time he talked about things that I could only just sense and
imagine. I hope my ability is as good as his if I ever reach that wonderful age.
He stretched my imagination. He is a pretty good academic too as well as being a
good mountaineer.
It would warm my heart if such a person would be invited and respected by the
outdoor community today.
Best wishes to you all
