Deadline Approaches for Submissions for President's Medal
The UK OR Society awards the President's Medal for the best account of
OR practice. In order to be considered for the award it is neccessary that
a short summary (no more than 2 pages) of the work is submitted by 1st
May. Those short-listed will then be asked to present their work at a
special session at the Annual Conference in Swansea in September. A
panel of judges, with some input from the conference attendees, will
determine the winner of the medal.
The competition is open to practitioners and academics alike. The only
criteria are that at least one member of the team must be a member of the
OR society, and that the work must describe OR in practice. A loose
interpretation of the meaning of OR is acceptable for the purposes of the
competition.
