Hi Phil,
>I have just picked up a book called "The Miners" by Anthony Burton
>(ISBN 0 233 96727 3)
>
>I haven't read it yet but it seems to be quite informative however,
>the author seems to talk much about the Notts coalfields in his text.
>
>Does anyone know who Anthony Burton is and whether he wrote any other
>books on the same subject.?
Assuming it is the same Anthony Burton:
A few years ago he had a TV series on Industrial Archaeology, prior to
that he wrote a book entitled "Remains of a Revolution" (can't put my
hand on it at the moment, but will rummage through the bookshelves in
abit). ROAR was also an I.A. book and at the time one of the main books
that detailed I.A. sites with map references etc..
I have not seen the new book, but I have heard poor reports of its
content, as you have a copy perhaps you could post a review.
