Colleagues
Please remember that if you would like to offer a display for Locating the
Victorians <<http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/researchers/victorians>>
and have not already done so, now is the moment.
Please send proposals to me, Robert Bud <<[log in to unmask]>>.
The conference is developing into an outstanding example of
interdisciplinary and international collaboration. It will a real feast.
See the programme on the website.
Remember the registration form is now on the web. If you want
accommodation, registrations required by mid-January.
Hints about displays are below.
In addition to the papers to be presented at Locating the Victorians, the
conference will also host displays. These will be along the same lines as
the Poster Sessions which are conventional at scientific meetings.
Presenters will have the opportunity to mount displays on up to two tables
which will have been provided. Electric plugs (230V) will be available for
computer displays.
The American Library Association website
<<http://www.lib.siu.edu/ala/samp.htm>> provides an example with hints on
key points of good practice.
The sessions will be mounted in the room to be used for beverage breaks.
Presenters might expect to attend their displays to explain their arguments.
We are now seeking proposals which should be made direct to the conference
convenor, Dr Robert Bud at <<[log in to unmask]>>. Informal approaches would
also be welcomed. Please make your proposals by 30 September. This deadline
is chosen to ensure that decisions are made with plenty of time for
registration.
It is expected that registration will be required by mid-January 2001 to
ensure accommodation needs can be met.
